Kayaking: Intermediate Rivers Course

Are you ready for a more excitement in your kayaking experience? If you have taken Intro to Rivers with the instructor, join this course to enhance your kayaking skills. We will focus more on ferrying, eddie turns, peel-outs, brace strokes, and stern draws. Class will take place on a portion of Rapid Creek depending on water flow at the time. All equipment, kayaks, and fees are included in the tuition! Please bring your own towels, snacks/lunch, water, and dress appropriately in layers for the water and weather. Mandatory waiver signed at class. Ages 14 yrs to 114 yrs welcome. Note: Class will meet at Canyon Lake Park parking lot across from Blessed Sacrament Church at 8AM and caravan from there.



Kayaking: Intermediate Rivers Course

Kayaking: Intro to Rivers

If you are a beginner kayaker, or have taken Intro to Kayaking course with the instructor, join us for a great time on Sand Creek. Course will enrtail a quick review of wet exits, t-rescues, boat and body positioning. Course will spend part of the day paddling at the top of Sand Creek in preparation for going down the river. The river section will focus on eddies, eddie lines, peel outs, proper boat tilts, river hazards, and slowing down the river. Ther is a small 7-foot waterfall that is optional after take out. All equipment, kayaks, and fees are included in the tuition! Please bring your own towels, snacks/lunch, water, and dress appropriately in layers for water and weather. Mandatory waiver signed at class. Ages 14 yrs to 114 yrs welcome. There's A Railroad in Your Garden!

This class will provide an overview of the hobby of garden railroading. Class includes information and discussion of available scale sizes, manufacturers,planning, plant selection, water features, plus other considerations for use of the equipment outdoors. Demonstrations of various types of equipment will allow you to be the judge of the equipment best suited for your garden. Included in class are visits to three distinct ourdoor layouts in the Black Hills which will be scheduled for June to  allow for optimum weather conditions and will be discussed in class.
